Pro Burnouts/Drag Racing Updates

Heads up! As you know from last time, this event is completely weather dependent. Together with the Meremere Dragway team, we’re keeping a close eye on conditions for the postponed Chrome Pro Burnout Series and Drag Racing Event. A final call on whether it goes ahead will be made by 8pm on Monday 8 September. With people travelling from all ends of the country, we want to give everyone as much notice as possible.

Even if the forecast looks fine, Meremere’s pits and parking are prone to flooding after heavy or continuous rain, making the venue unusable and slow to dry out.

If we do have to cancel, there is no extra rain date. The August Hampton Downs Pro Burnout results will roll over. After chatting with the Pro Burnouts and SUMMERNATS team, along with our judge Matt, we all agreed those results are a solid reflection of the NZ Burnout scene.
